Supporting the Emotional Development of Your Child or Teen: What Every Parent Needs to Know (and what your parents didn’t teach you!)

This workshop will cover the concepts of emotional development and regulation, as well as the basics of emotion coaching. All adult carers are welcome to attend, including parents, step-parents, foster parents, adoptive parents, grand-parents, etc Childcare services will be available. The workshop is free of charge.

Share a Book Literacy Campaign to Launch at Cambrian College, January 24th 11:30.

 

Beginning on January 24, students and staff from Cambrian College’s Early Childhood Education program will be collecting new and gently used books intended for children for distribution in the community  The new and used children’s books, collected between January 24 and March 4, will be sorted and distributed to area food banks.

Reading Tails is a program designed to improve reading skills for children ages 6 through 12 years old, who already know how to read. Each child will read to a certified Magical Paws Therapy Dog for 30 minutes.

Greater Sudbury Transit Introduces Priority and Courtesy Seating

Greater Sudbury Transit has introduced priority and courtesy seating for passengers who may benefit from having a seat near the front of the bus. Signs are posted on each bus designating priority seating for passengers with disabilities and courtesy seating for seniors, expectant mothers, adults traveling with infants or small children, or any other customer who may have difficulty reaching a seat further down the bus aisle. 


City of Greater Sudbury seeks public input to improve Handi-Transit Service

The City of Greater Sudbury invites Handi-Transit clients and other interested citizens to a public input meeting on Monday, November 26, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Room C-11 at Tom Davies Square, to discuss current levels of service and potential for improvements to alternative transportation in the city.
